During the months of ‘Social Distancing,’ the congregations of West Zion, East Zion & Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran churches, developed some simple ministries using the telephone as a ‘Low-Tech’ way to help folks who were not getting out much…..
*Daily Devotion Message on Church Answering Machine…. Every day, volunteers from the three churches, along with Pr. Steve, record a new message on the church answering machine which includes a short prayer of passage of scripture. People are invited to call the office at any time and listen to the message as a source of inspiration and connection.
*Phone Calls to Neighbors….. Members from West Zion, and their partner churches, take a few moments to call neighbors in their area who they know might appreciate a listening ear that day. This has been a sweet, grass-roots, way of reaching out and being there for others.
*Phone Calls to One Another….. Members from all three churches have made an effort to call one another during the months of isolation and disruption, especially those who may be under some accumulating stress.
